Le Petit Hotel Caju

Funchal

The proposed concept by Atelier Nini Andrade Silva for Le Petit Hotel Caju reflects the architectural and constructive versatility of the existing building, as well as the proximity to a physical context that brings genuine and differentiating elements to the project.

The grand exterior facade, which encloses a completely open space with exposed concrete slabs and imposing stone walls, is the foundation that materializes the entire creative process. Here, it became evident that it was necessary to keep these elements exposed whenever possible, as they give the space a unique identity and transform it into a minimalist, urban yet very welcoming environment.

In the main entrance and reception area, taking advantage of the large opening that faces Rua da Carreira, a sculptural and exclusive design piece was created, being visible from the street and functioning as an attractive and inviting element into the building, where another special piece awaits, functioning as both the hotel's reception and the bar/restaurant.

On the lower floor, an informal space was created with a lounge area where furniture is arranged freely but intentionally, giving rise to a dynamic, stripped-down but very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
